MEMBERS OF THE ASSEMBLY BARRON COUNTYJOHN L. DAHL (Rep.) speaker of the 1923 assembly is a lawyer,senior member of the law firm of Dahl & Gannon at Rice Lake,farmer and. manufacturer. Born on a farm in Trempealeaucounty, he attended the common schools, the Osseo highschool, and is a graduate of the River Falls normal and theUniversity of Wisconsin, with the degree of Ph. B.; attendedthe law school at the university and received his law degreefrom Hamilton College of Law, Chicago, and was admitted to thestate bar in 1916. Taught as high school principal and citysuperintendent of schools after graduating from the normal andthe university; served as county food administrator during theperiod of the Federal Food Administration; served as districtattorney of Barron county 1919-20; was a delegate from thetenth congressional district to the National Republicanconvention, 1920, and was elected to the assembly in 1920 andre-elected in November, 1922, without opposition, receiving4,139 votes. In addition to the practice of law, he owns andoperates a well improved farm in Barron county, raising purebred Holstein cattle, and is president of a furnace company ofSt. Paul and president of a produce company of Rice Lake.
