MEMBERS OF SUPREME COURT CHRISTIAN DOERFLER was born in Milwaukee March 2, 1862. His father, a pioneer tanner, settled in Milwaukee in 1846 and conducted a tannery on the site of the South Side Library. Mr. Doerfier attended graded and high school and was graduated, from the Milwaukee Normal school in 1880. He then taught in the Sixth ward public school for three years. From 1883 to 1885, he studied law and has practised law in Milwaukee continuously since, with the exception of seven years during which he was ill. He was assistant district attorney from 1889 to 1891; school commissioner from 1889 to 1891, and member of the commission to appoint school directors from 1896 to 1900; district delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1912; delegate-at-large in 1916 and alternate delegate-at-large in 1920. He was president of the Milwaukee County Bar association in 1912, and president of the Wisconsin Bar association in 1915.
