RACINE COUNTY Third District. The towns of Burlington, Caledonia, Dover, Mt. Pleasant, Norway, Raymond, Rochester, Waterford and Yorkville; the villages of Corliss, Rochester, Union Grove and Waterford; the city of Burlington and the ninth ward of the city of Racine. JOHN H. KAMPER (Rep.) was born in Denmark, Dec. 17, 1857. He came to Wisconsin with his parents in 1866, settling in Racine, where he has ever since resided. At the age of 22 he was elected justice of the peace which office he held 14 years. For 17 years he was chairman of the town of Raymond and a member of the county board of supervisors of Racine county, holding the position for 4 years as chairman. He has held numerous other offices of trust. He is a retired farmer. He was first elected to the assembly in 1908, re-elected in 1910 and in November 1922 was again elected assemblyman, receiving 3,498 votes to 792 for E. F.
