MEMBERS OF SUPREME COURT WALTER C. OWEN was advanced to the Supreme court from the office of Attorney General, which he held for five years. He was born on a farm in the town of Trenton, Pierce county, Sept. 26, 1868; educated in the common and high schools of Pierce county, and graduated from the law department, University of Wisconsin with the class of 1891. He immediately began the practice of law in Superior, where he remained seven years and then removed to Maiden Rock where he continued to practice until elected attorney-general. He was elected to the senate in 1907 without opposition to succeed James A. Frear and was re-elected for a full term in 1908, again without opposition. He was elected attorney-general in 1912 and re- elected in 1914 and 1916, and was elected Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1917. --- Additional Comments: The Wisconsin Blue Book.
