REPRESENTATIVES FOURTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT The 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th Wards city of Milwaukee, towns of Wauwatosa, Greenfield, Franklin, Oak Creek and Lake, the village of West Milwaukee and cities of West Allis, Wauwatosa, South Milwaukee and Cudahy, all in Milwaukee county. JOHN C. SCHAFER (Rep.) is a locomotive engineer who enlisted in the 13th Engineers, U. S. Army, May 24, 1917, and served with that unit under the French Fourth Army at Champagne; French Second Army at Verdun, St. Mihiel and in the Meuse- Argonne offensive. He was born in Milwaukee, May 7, 1893, educated in the district school, town of Wauwatosa and West Allis high school. Before taking up railroad work he was employed in the office of the Allis-Chalmers Co. He never held an office until elected to the assembly in 1920. He was elected to Congress in November, 1922.
