SAUK COUNTY

DWIGHT S. WELCH (Rep.) was born on a farm in the town of Del-
ton, Sauk county, Jan. 13, 1874. He was educated in the common
schools. He has been engaged in the farming business all of
his life except three years when he was in the livery and
transfer business. He has been a member of the school board
since 1916 and Vice-President of the Farmers' Telephone
Company since 1914. He was a member of the State Central
Republican Committee four years. He was elected to the
assembly in November, 1922, without opposition.
