OSCAR HASKELD MORRIS (Rep.) was born in Springfield, Mass., March 8, 1876, and came to Milwaukee with his parents when two years of age. He left graded school at an early age to become "copy boy" on the Milwaukee Sentinel. Later he became reporter and sports writer on this paper; reporter, city editor, and sports editor on the Milwaukee Daily News; and department manager of the Milwaukee Association of Commerce. He was elected to the Senate in 1920, 1924, 1928, and 1932; and served as president pro tempore in 1927. He was chairman of the interim committee on prison labor which reported to the 1929 legislature and of the aeronautics committee which reported in 1931; and is now the chairman of the Committee on Corporations and Taxation.
