All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/wi/wifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Poquette npoq@hotmail.com January 1, 2007, 4:27 am Bureau Of Pension Inquiries November 8, 1914-“ELISHA TYRER…in answer to the inquiries of the Bureau of Pensions under the date of October 28th, 1911, says that there is no public record of his birth that he ever could find or hear of, or that there is no baptism record that he has ever heard of, and that the family record kept by his father is somewhere, but he cannot tell who has them or where they are, and that in 1865, after his discharge from the army, his sister copied out of his father’s Bible the date of his birth as the 14th day of October in the year 1836, and he further says that he is unable to give a certified copy of that, for since the death of his wife, which occurred fifteen years ago last August, he has been living with his children and batching [bacheloring], and that the record copied from his father’s Bible has been lost.
