Emigrants to Iowa County, Wisconsin I found in the 1860 census of Iowa county people from Austria: Josef Rothauer 37 years old, Theresia Stoegner 47, Anne Stoegner 30. In the 1870s census Josef Rothauer was stated as well with his wife Mary (52), Stoegner Johann 34, Stoegner Bernhard (32). This is to be found in Roll 1718 pp. 260, 270 and 272. Even have a letter of them from Blue Mounds back home to Austria. Others are Sams Peter and Theresia. Especially Josef Rothauer is very important for me as he was the pioneer of this emigration which lasted from 1851 to 1882. Any info of him is appreciated.
