KURTH SERVICES SUNDAY IN ARGYLE “Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie E. Kurth, 77, Argyle who died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, June 1, 1966, in her home were held Sunday afternoon in the Argyle Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lymon Oman officiated and burial was in Woodlawn cemetery.” “Fanny Elizabeth Mitchell was born in Mineral Point on September 22, 1888. She was married January 6, 1905 in Dodgeville to Joseph M. Kurth. He died March 15, 1957. Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. Florence O'Hara, Chicago; Mrs. Agnes Andrews, Argyle; Mrs. Alma Andrews, Fayette; Mrs. Bernadine Krooks, Mineral Point; Mrs. Walberga Runnels, Benton, Illinois; Mrs. Arvilla Kurth, San Diego, California; Mrs. Darleen Marolda, Round Lake, Illinois; Mrs. Fayola Paige, Topeka, Kansas, four sons, Theodore, San Diego; Delbert, Topeka; Darwin, Darlington; and Peter, Argyle; a sister, Mrs. Tillie Salladay, Beloit, 35 grandchildren; 49great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.” “Mrs. Fannie Kurth Taken By Death Wednesday Mrs. Fanny Kurth, 77, resident of the Argyle area for over fifty years, died unexpectedly at her home in the village last Wednesday evening. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:15 at the Argyle Lutheran church. Rev. Lyman Oman officiated and burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. Fanny Elizabeth Mitchell was born in Mineral Point, September 22,1888. She was married January 6, 1905 in Dodgeville to Joseph M. Kurth, who preceded her in death March 15, 1957. The couple farmed before moving to the village of Argyle. They observed their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1955. Mrs. Kurth was a member of the Argyle Lutheran church and of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are eight daughters Mrs. Florence O'Hara, Chicago; Mrs. Agnes Andrews, Argyle; Mrs. Alma Andrews, Fayette; Mrs. Bernadine Krooks, Mineral Point; Mrs. Walberga Runnels, Benton, Ill.; Mrs. Arvilla Kurth, San Diego, Calif; Mrs. Darleen Marolda, Round Lake, Ill., and Mrs. Fayola Paige, Topeka, Kan.: four sons, Theodore, San Diego; Delbert, Topeka; Darwin, Darlington, and Peter, Argyle; a sister, Mrs. Tillie Salladay, Beloit; 35 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, in infancy, two brothers and two sisters."
