Chronicle will be read by friends of Mr. TYRER who knew him in Austin. He has visited his brother here, his last visit was six years ago, when he remained a month.’ “ELISHA TYRER died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Salladay, November 30th at 12:30 am. He was born 73 years ago at Columbus, Ohio, and was a son of LUTHER and SARAH TYRER. His mother died while he was young. He was raised to manhood by Dr. Asa Tyrer of Dodgeville, his uncle. On August 15th, 1862, he and his brother Robert enlisted in Co. C. of the 31st Wisconsin Infantry Volunteers and served three years, at which time he was discharged honorably therefrom, and returned to his home at Dodgeville. He was married in July, 1865 to Miss MARY A. BUNTING, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. GEORGE BUNTING of Dodgeville. To this union seven children were born, six surviving the father. The mother died on Sept. 12, 1896, at Dodgeville. The sorrowing children are: Mary E. Thomas, Lucinda A. Sherman, Eli W. Tyrer, IDA B. DAVEY and George A. Tyrer of Bell Center, Laura M. Salladay of Beloit. Amos L. Tyrer died at the age of seven months. He also leaves one sister, Isabel Faragher of Watertown, SD, one brother, Robert Tyrer of Austin, Minn. and fourteen grandchildren.” The above obituary was copied from the Dodgeville Chronicle obit of December 14, 1914 which added the following information: “Funeral services were held at the home of Charles Sherman, conducted by Reverend Enoch Pickering, assisted by Reverend M. D. Peavy.
