FROM OUR RIDGEWAY RAMBLER John, Asa, Joe THOMAS from Home City, Kansas, Mrs. John MORRIS from Chicago and Mrs. E. J. EDWARDS from Boudle, Dakota, were suddenly called here by telegram on last Friday on account of the death of their sister Mrs. Maggie A. CARTER. The boys look well after an absence of about fifteen years on the prairies of the far west. Margaret Ann (THOMAS) CARTER died 18 Oct 1888 in Barneveld, Iowa, WI. Obituary typed as written: With sorrowing hearts we Chronicle the sad news of the sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Maggie A. CARTER nee THOMAS, the beloved wife of William C. CARTER which occurred at her home about three miles west of Barneveld, on Thursday morning, Oct. 18, 1888, the deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel THOMAS of Barneveld. She was married to Mr. CARTER about nine years ago, besides whom she leaves two children Ira about eight years old, Edna five years old, to mourn their lose. Mrs. CARTER was very highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and a good christian. The funeral rights were held in the Congregational church in Barneveld, on Friday and the services were conducted in the English language by Rev. WILLIAN of Arena, Rev. LLOYD of Barneveld and Rev. TOOD of Ridgeway. As the brothers and sisters of the departed had not yet arrived, the remains were kept in the church until 2 o'clock p.m. Saturday, when they were laid in their last resting place in the White Church cemetery.
