Obituary typed as written: THE CHRONICLE, DODGEVILLE, WIS - FRIDAY, DEC 7, 1906 OBITUARY - DANIEL THOMAS Daniel THOMAS, died at his home in the village of Barneveld, on Saturday morning, Dec. 1, 1906, after an illness of long duration. The deceased was born in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, Nov. 4, 1815, and was at the time of death aged ninety-one years and about one month. He was married in the year 1842 to Margaret RICHARDS. In 1853 they came to this country and located on a farm near Jennieton, where they lived till 1882, when they moved to the village and settled in the home in which he died. His wife died March 31, 1904. At an early age Mr. THOMAS united with the church and remained a faithful and consistent member to the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his death two sons, As a of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, and David of Ontario, Canada, and three daughters, Mesdames Hannah MORRIS and Ruth BAKER, of this place, and Mrs., Frank ROBERTS, of Dousman, Wis., besides a large number of grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral occurred from his late home on Wednesday at 12 M. Services were conducted by the Revs. T. W. COLE of this place, John DAVIS, of Chicago, Josiah DANIELS of Oakland, Cal., and Thos. EVANS of Dodgeville. Interment took place at the Barneveld Cemetery. Despit the unpleasant weather the funeral was attended by a large number of people. Mr. THOMAS was a kind father, a good citizen and neighbor and a consistent christian. The family have the universal sympathy of the people in their bereavement.
