Kirkpatrick, who was born in the town of Miflin, July 3rd, 1834, and was therefore 68 years, 5 months and 11 days old at the time of his death. Mr. Kirkpatrick was the fourth son of the late Francis C. Kikerpatrick, who died in Clifton, Wis., on the 3rd day of June 1877, and who sprang from Revolutionary stock, and of a hardy, Scotish race, and was among the first settlers of Wisconsin Territory, the father coming here in 1827, and this neighborhood has been Mr. Kirkpatrick's home all the days of his life. Mr. Kirkpatrick was united in marriage to Miss Mary Hannon, May 25, 1862, from this union five children were born, to wit; Sarah Augusta, now Mrs. Bailey, Vance M., Catharine D. Enloe, now deceased, Annie B., now Mrs. Billings and Mary E., at home. Mr. Kirkpatrick's father's family consisted of father and mother, 6 sons and 4 daughters, and this is the second death among the children. He was a man of few words, always doing what seemed to him his duty. The Golden Rule was his criterion. In politics he was a Jackson democrat, in religion he was liberal, ever believing in the fundamental principals underlying all religions, the existence and prividence of God. Rev. Vincent, of Montfort, conducted the funeral services at the M.E. church in Livingston, and the interment was at the old Kirkpatrick cemetery in the town of Mifflin. And thus another pioneer has gone to the land of our fathers. Additional Comments: photo referenced was contributed by Larry and Linda Kopet.
