Jan. 28, 1927 - Sept. 27, 2003

BARNEVELD/RIDGEWAY - Ronald H. Jones, age 76, of
Barneveld, died on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at Upland
Hills Health, following an apparent heart attack. Ron was
born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Dodgeville to Harvey and Mary
(Lewis) Jones. He was a graduate of the Ridgeway High
School and served in the US Army during the Korean
Conflict. Ron married the former Ida Loy of Arena, on
April 16, 1959. The couple farmed east of Ridgeway until
1972 when Ron started an excavating business. He later
owned and operated Home Furniture Repair until retiring in
1996 due to health reasons. Ron was a member of St.
Bridget's Catholic Church in Ridgeway and the Ridgeway
American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents;
and three brothers, Ralph, Laurence and Alvin Jones. Ron
is survived by his wife, Ida of Barneveld; a daughter,
Mary Jones of Madison; a sister, Ann Leuthold of
Barneveld; a sister-in-law, Carolyn (Francis) Portwine of
Dodgeville as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH
in Ridgeway. Father Donald Lange will officiate with
burial in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Visitation will be from
4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the
LULLOFF-PETERSON-HOUCK FUNERAL HOME, Dodgeville where a
Parish Rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Friends may also call
at the church on Wednesday after 10 a.m.
