Majewski, Alice
DODGEVILLE - Alice Murphy 
Majewski, age 90, of Dodgeville, died on Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at
Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home in rural Dodgeville. She was born on
Nov. 28, 1913, in Dodgeville, a daughter of the late Michael and Clara
(Convey) Murphy. She graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1932 and
from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1935. She served during World War
II as a nurse in the U.S. public health service in Marine hospitals in
Chicago, Ill., and Detroit, Mich. Alice married Harry Majewski in 1960
in Chicago. After spending most of her life in Detroit, Mich., she
returned to Dodgeville in 1995 and resided in Bloomfield Manor. She
was a member of the Beckett-Kurth No. 257 - Ridgeway American Legion
Auxiliary. Alice is survived by her brothers, Joseph (Agnes) Murphy,
of Ridgeway, and Michael F. (Lucille) Murphy of Hartland; her sister,
Mary (Jim) McFadzean of Wilmette, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1983; and her
parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. on
Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at ST. BRIDGET'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, in
Ridgeway. Father Donald Lange will officiate. Burial will be held in
St. Bridget's Cemetery, with military graveside rites accorded by the
Ridgeway American Legion Post No. 257. Family and friends may call
from 10 a.m. until time of Mass on Thursday at the church. Gorgen-
