Joseph lived with father and his sister Laura. Military:Inducted Feb. 25, 1941 at Milwaukee, Wi. #36 202 299 PFC Co. B; 112th airborn Army Signal Batallion. Was discharged at the seperation center of Fort Sheridan, Ill., Sept. 17th, 1945. Was in many battles and campaigns;Tunisian - Rome - Arno - Southern France - Ardennes - Rhineland - and Central Europe. He never had a furlough! Glen(Joseph) was a very kind and gentle person when not drinking. It was a different story when he was. Joseph, like others from this generation of McMahan's was a heavy drinker. While researching Superior court records for drinking arrests for Leo Owen McMahan, I located a number of them for Joseph Glen McMahan as well. Feb 23, 1951; 1951(the month and day are cut off); Oct 18, 1960(drunk and disorderly, he recieved 10 days in jail); Oct 20, 1960; Nov 21, 1960; Mar 20, 1961; Mar 23, 1962, Mar 28, 1962; Apr 09, 1962Feb 13, 1963. There are probably others. Obit is from the Dodgeville Chronicle, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. Thur. 24 Sept 1970 JOSEPH GLENN MCMAHAN Joseph Glenn McMahan, 55, died Wednesday (Sept. 15, 1970) at home of an apparent heart attack. He was a laborer, and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his father, John McMahan; five brothers, Vincent and Francis, Madison; William, Mount Horab; John, Chicago; and Jerome, Mineral Point; and four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Baumgartner, Verona; Miss Laura McMahan, Dodgeville; Mrs. Mary Pinney, Pittsville; and MRs. Anna Mosely, Darlington. The funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Mindermann-McGinley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
