Thurs. 27 Dec 1923 OBITUARY OF MRS. CATHERINE KEATING RYAN. Mrs. Catherine Keating Ryan, daught of Michael and Elizabeth Keating, was born in Queen's County Ireland, Feb. 2, 1828, and died at her home in the town of Ridgeway Dec. 12, 1923, at the age of 95 years, 10 months and two days. In May of 1828, with her parents, she immigrated to America settling at Minersville, Pennsylvania. In the year 1846 they again moved to New Diggings, Wis. She was untied in marriage to Edward Ryan of Ridgeway in 1848, and has since made Ridgeway her home. Ten children blessed this union, four of whom died in infancy. One son Eddie died in 1897, Thomas K. in 1905, Michael K. in 1921 and her husband also preceded here in death many years passing away in 1878. Three children survive, namely John K. and Afnes at home and Mrs. Joseph Murty. She also leaves five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Collins, all of Ridgeway, besides many nieces and nephews. She was a kind and loving mother and had a firm faith in the teachings of her church. She was indeustrius, loving her home and children and will be sadly missed by friends as well as the family. The funeral was held Friday morning, Dec. 14th, from St. Bridgets Church, Rev. J. Barry saying High Mass for the repose of her soul. Interment was made in the Cathlolic cemetery.
