Married Benjamin L. BEAN on 14Nov1905 in Iowa Co., Wi. OBITUARY Mrs. Bennie L. Bean, whose maiden name was Miss Margaret Tappins, died at the General Hospital at Madison, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 29, 1917, at which place she went about six weeks ago and underwent a very serious operation. Everything was done to alleviate her suffering, by loved ones and physicians, but the grim hand of death could not be stayed. Mrs Bean was born in the town of Highland; July 23, 1862. Her vocation was teaching school, which occupation she followed for several years. She was twice married. The firt marriage took place at Clyde in St. Malachy's Catholic church, Dec. 27, 1890 to Martin Hennessey, by Rev. Father Dempsey. To this union three children were born; (Nona) Mrs. Jas. Brophy of Lone Rock, and her twin, and Martin. Her husband died in 1893. Nov 14, 1906 she was married to Benjamin Bean, and in Avoca she lived several years. She then, with her husband and children moved to Platteville, in order to afford the children a Normal education. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her lissm a kind sister and four brothers, Matthew of Madison, Peter of Minnesota, George of Hudson, Wis., Jack of New Diggins, Wis., and many relatives, who were present at the death and the funeral. Mrs. Bean, during her illness, was fortified by the last sacraments of the church, administered by Rev. Father Johnson of Madison. She was buried Dec. 1, 1917, form St. Joseph's Catholic church, her pastor, Rev. Father Kenney of Avoca, officiating at the services with Requim High Mass. Services being concluded, her remains were followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends from Highland, Clyde, Lone Rock, Milwaukee and Chicago, and she was laid to rest, and to sleep the sleep of the dead, in the Avoca cemetery.
