She died at St. Joseph's hospital on Sunday, Jan. 16 after a long illness, age 79 years, 7 months, 16 days. Her husband preceeded her in death 2 years ago. She was united in marriage to James Edward McCormick in Avoka, Wis., where she lived her entire life. To this happy union were born four daughters and four sons, namely, Laura, Mrs. Joseph Doughtery, Nell, Mrs. Earl Shelton, Leo, all of Avoka; Elizabeth, Mrs. Rudy Koch of Columbus; Agnes, Mrs. Pearl Smith, Lone Rock; Robert of Madison; John, now with the armed forces of Africa and a son, Thomas, who died in infancy. A brother James Finnegan, Milwaukee; 18 grandchildren, one great grandchild are left to mourn her departure. She has been a patient sufferer during her illness. A kind devoted mother, Neighbor and friend and loved by all who knew her. The funeral took place on Jan 19, 1944 from St. Joseph's Catholic curch at Avoka. Rev. Fr. McCarthy, Avoka, assisted by Rev. Fr. Kenny Hazel Green, and Rev. Fr. De Rocher Highland officiating with a solem high mass. Pall bearers were, John McGill, Hugh Flannery, Fred Bohan, Harry Powell, Henry Steinhart and John Steinhart. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Avoka Catholic cemetary. Relatives from out of town were, Robert McCormick and three sons of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Koch and children, Columbus; James Finnegan, Milwaukee; Mrs. Elizabeth O'Hardy, Mrs. Kate Neuhauser, John O'Brien, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McDermott, Mre. Bert Shipley, William McDermott, Mrs. Biddy Young, William Mahon, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Doughtery, Marcella Finnegan, Ray Farness, Bill Brown, Madison; Miss Elsie Qualman, Milwaukee; Mrs. Mary Higgin, Mazomanie; John Mahon and daughter Laura; Katie Herrick, of Dodgeville; Mrs. Eddie Burinkatt, Cross Plains, WIs; Mrs. Mayme Aide, Ridgeway; Margaret and Mary Myers, Avoka; Mrs. Walter Hines, Highland; Mr. and Mrs. George Finnegan, Mr. and Mrs. H. Hosharek, Avoka, Mrs. Agnes Lacke, Hazel Green; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Price, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
