A date in pencil says Jan 12, 1942: James McCormick To Be Buried Thursday James McCormick, 80, life long resident of Avoka community and for many years employed on the Milwaukee Railroad, died at his home on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held this Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock from St. Joseph's church in Avoka and burial will be made in the villiage cemetary. Surviving are the bereved wife, and seven children, Mrs. Laura Daughtery, Mrs. Earl Shelton and Leo McCormick, Avoka; Mrs. Lizzie Kock, Columbus; John McCormick, Milwaukee; Robert McCormick, Madison; and Mrs. Pearl Smith, of Lone Rock. There are also numerous grandchildren and other relatives.
