TO NOTE: His name on death records is Leo J., tombstone and WWI draft index is James L. Obit from the Dodgeville Chronicle, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. Thurs. 18 Dec 1969: LEO J. MCCORMICK Leo J. McCormick, 71, died at home thursday(Dec 11, 1969) after a long illness. He farmed near Clyde and Pulaski, and moved to Avoca in 1956. He married Edna Steinhart in 1920. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and a 50 year member of the Order of Foresters. Surviving are his wife; two sons, John, Muscoda and James, Avoca; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Dougherty and Mrs. Earl Shelton, Avoca; Mrs. Elizabeth Koch, Columbus; and Mrs. Pearl Smith, Lone Rock; two brothers, John, Milwaukee and Robert, Madison; and three grandchildren. The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Church.
