Fri 04 Sep 1908 -Avova News- OBITUARY- After a lingering illness of many months, death brought to a close the earthly career of Stephen Quinn, born and brought up in Avoca. He had attained the age of 38. A little over a year ago he was thrown from the caboose of a train sustaining injuries which left him an invalid and which undoubtedly hurried him to an untimely end. Stephen was known to the writer over twenty-five years and during that time we have never heard a word or any intimation that he was not "the soul of honor." In his private walk and in public capacities he has always been a trusy person. Would the world had more such ecamples. he follows a father and mother and a sister and brother to the same resting place, and leaves to mourn his untimely taking two brothers, Patrick, of Spokane, Wash, and John, of St. Paul; five sisters, Mrs. Connors, of Clyde, Mrs. Walter Leach, of Avoca, Mrs. G. Reuter of Bear Valley and Mary E. and Theresa of Avoca. His loss will be more deeply felt by his sisters, Mary E. and Theresa, as he has made their home the home of all. His funeral was largely attended and the burial took place in the cemetery on Otter Creek.
