The Dodgeville Chronicle, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. Thurs 06 Jun 1940 THERESA QUINN Theresa Quinn, a life long resident of Avoca, was born July 22, 1873 and died at a Madison hospital May 15, 1940 after several months of illness. She was the daughter of Patrick and Rose Quinn who with four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death; Henry, Patrick, John, Stephen, Mrs. Rose Conner, Mrs. Sarah Leach, Mary Ellen, and Mrs. Lou Reuter. Miss Quinn was a sucessful school teacher having taught in the Avca school and others in Iowa county also seven years in Hazen, North Dakota. The last 15 years were spent in the Oak Grove school in Milwaukee county. She retired from actual service five years ago. She was an example of the highest type of womeanhood, generous, kind and true. She lead a devout Christian life. Her relatives and hosts of friends norun her departure. Pallbearers were; D.J. Delany, William McGill, Joe Dougherty, Fred Bohan, Anthony McNulty, and Ole Arneson. Funeral services were held from St. Joseph's Catholic church, May 25, conducted by Rev. Father Clarence Dais and interment was made in St. Malachi's cemetery in Clyde. A large number of relatives and friends were present at the last rites, some coming from Battle Creek, Mich., Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago, Milwaukee, Racine, Superior and Madison.
