Fri 08 Jun 1906 After an illness of six weeks, Mrs. Rose Quinn, died at her home in Avoca May 29th, 1906. Mrs. Quinn was born in county Tyrone, Ireland, in 1826, and came to America with an unle in 1841, settling at Lowell, Mass. Nov.15th, 1848, she became the wife of Patrick Quinn, and in 1866 they moved to Avoca, Wis., which has ever since been her home. Seventeen years ago she was bereft of her companion, but has continued to keep up the home. She was the mother of ten children, two having preceded her to the better land. All of her eight children, except Patrick, of Spokane, Wash., ministered to her wants during her sickness and were present at her funeral, viz.,John, of St. Paul, Mrs. J. Conner, of Clyde, Mrs. Walter Leach, of Avoca, Mrs. August Reuter, of Woodlawn, Wis., and Mary Ellen, Stephen and Theresa, of Avoca. The passing of Mrs. Quinn removes from the family circle a loving mother who was isolized by her children, and during her widowhood her younger children have nobly provided for her wants. Mrs. K. was a kind neighbor, always willing to aid those needing assistance. To those of the family who have ministered to her needs most closely her loss will be felt most deeply. The funeral services took place May 31st, at St. Joseph's church in Avoca, Rev. Father Pruchia, of Musoda, saying High Mass and preaching an appropriate discourse. Her remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband at the Otter Creek cemetery.
