"Born in Tryere Co., Ireland" "A worthy friend, husband, dear father, slumber here." The Dodgeville Chronicle, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., Wi. FRI 18 Oct 1889 -AVOCA- Our village was shocked on Monday morning when the news spread that Mr. Patrick Quinn was reported as dead. mr. Quinn, just prior to his death, had mounted a small stack of buckwheat preparatory to pitching it to the machine, and jokingly said to the men to not keep him waiting so long, when the men noticed that he was sinking down, and at once he toppled over backward falling but a short distance upon his head and shoulders. The men at once lifted him into a comfortable position when he died almost instantly. The supposed cause of his death was heart disease, as he had complained lately of trouble in that region. Mr. Quinn was in his 76th year, and has lived in Avoca 23 years, having worked on the section 15 years, after which he has devoted his time to farm labot. Mr. Quinn enjoyed his time to farm labor. Mr. Quinn enjoyed the confidence of his villagers in the highest respect, and his sorrowing family have the sympahties of the entire community. Funeral from Avoca on the 16th.
