All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/wi/wifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Poquette npoq@hotmail.com January 1, 2007, 5:09 am Source: Iowa County, Wi Wills Written: February 7, 1884 Recorded: October 4, 1884 Last Will and Testament of William Tyrer, son of Asa Tyrer “I, William Tyrer of the town of Dodgeville, and state of Wisconsin, aged 73 years and over, being sick and weak in body, but of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say: “I will and direct that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be paid and discharged by my executors as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.” “I give and bequeath unto my daughter Amy, the sum of $300.” “I give and bequeath unto my daughter Helen’s child, Addie, the sum of $300 for her benefit, comfort, and support and I commend her to the care of my executors who are hereby directed to retain in their hands, the said sum of $300 and to expend the interest thereof and such portion of the principal a may be necessary for the purpose aforesaid.” “I give, devise and bequeath to my two sons, Oscar and Alvin, the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal to be divided equally between them share and share alike and to have and to hold the same to them, their heirs and assigns forever.” “I hereby appoint my said sons, Oscar and Alvin executors of this, my last will and testament, and hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this 7th day of February, 1884. William Tyrer.” “The above and foregoing instrument consisting of one sheet was now here signed and sealed by William Tyrer the testator in our presence and he at the same time published and declared said instrument to be his last will and testament, and now at his request, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as attesting witnesses hereto. Orvil Strong, John Nelson State of Wisconsin, Iowa County In the matter of the last will and testament of William Tyrer, deceased, the count court of said county, the petition of Oscar Tyrer of Dodgeville in the county of Iowa, and state of Wisconsin, respectfully show: That William Tyrer, who was at the time of his death, an inhabitant of the town of Dodgeville, in the county of Iowa, died on the 6th of September, 1884, [Can’t read, too dark] [Can’t read, too dark] and heirs at law as follows: Oscar Tyrer, aged 39 years, residing at Dodgeville Alvin Tyrer, aged 25 year, residing at Dodgeville Helen Sanborn, aged 37 years, residing at Jenny Lind, Calif. Wm. Amos James, a son of his deceased daughter Amy, aged nearly 7 months who resides with his grandparents C____ James and wife at Dodgeville. A daughter of said Helen Sanborn, who is a ??? of said deceased, aged 11 years, called Addie and who resides with Alvin Tyrer at Dodgeville. That the personal property of said William Tyrer, deceased _________________ to the sum of $4500[?] and __________ the value of $500 _______________________. That said deceased left a will duly executed by him as petitioner ______________ presented and propounded for probate wherein your petitioner and _______ Alvin Tyrer are named as executors. Wherefore your petitioner prays that said will may be proved and allowed as the last will and testament of said William Tyrer, deceased, and that his testamen___ be issued to him and said Alvin Tyrer.
