Submitted by Sue Eddy, Coordinator of the Wisconsin State Old Cemetery Society Jackson County, WI. 20:15 2/11/00 ----------------------------------------------------- A list of Jackson County Cemeteries by township, submitted by Sue Eddy, Coordinator of the Wisconsin State Old Cemetery Society for this county. All stones in the 75 cemeteries were recorded in 1991. There are many unmarked burials in every cemetery with the exception of the Trout Run Cemetery in Irving Township. The Trout Run Cemetery Committee voluntarily placed markers on all their unmarked burials. Typical of any area, there were burials that took place on homesteads in the early days, stones that were destroyed or plowed under, weather deterioration as well as vandalism over the years. Every attempt was made by volunteers to record the stones as accurately as possible throughout the county as well as place Veteran's markers where the service record could be proven. Many of the cemeteries were known by different names over the years and listed under a different township, depending on the year the township was created. The following list is as complete as possible at this time.
