He was united in marriage to Thressa Randals in Hixton, June, 1899. To this union was born five children. He farmed in Sechlerville and Black River Falls vicinities. He was in the contracting business in Iron Mountain, Michigan, Dayton, Illinois and Waukegan, Illinois where he lived for 20 years, after which time he moved to Bellingham, Washington, where his wife died December 17, 1948. In 1950 he was married to Julia Case who survives him, also his four children, Lillian (Mrs. Robert Canutson) of Waukegan, Ill; Sam and Helen (Mrs. Martin Larson) of Zion, Ill; and Leon of Gurney(sic), Ill. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A (sic) infant son preceded him in death in 1913, also his two brothers, Fred in 1952 and Jake in 1930 both of Wisconsin. Surviving him are two brothers, Will, of Alburqueque, N. M.; and Julius of Black River Falls. Four sisters, Augusta Stoker of Illinois; Hulda Dietrich of Tacoma, Washington; Clara Lewis of Yuma, Arizona; Tillie Lubo of McCloud, Florida; Amelia Hoagenson of Black River Falls and Minnie Kimball of Milwaukee. Services were held in Bellingham, Washington, on Friday, October 1 and at Jensen's Funeral Home at Hixton on October 4 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Wayne Grover and laid to rest beside his former wife in the Hixton cemetery. The pallbearers were Mike Abend, Clad Pratt, Charles Chrisinger, Jess Jarret, Frank Abend and John Engleman. Flower girls were Mrs. Paul Getman, Mrs. Havey Randals, Joyce Larson and Donna Casper. Organ music by Mrs. Sid Jensen. All of the children and families attended the funeral except Mr. and Mrs. Robert Canutson of Waukegan, Ill. as Lillian was ill and unable to attend. Mr. Hubert was held in warm regard by all who knew him. He was devoted to his family, proud of their progress and very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other people to attend from out of town were Elizabeth Jamin and son Bruce, Waukegan, Ill.; Richard Hubert, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Stoker, Mrs. Holga Johnson, Mrs. Art Kleven and son Tom, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Hubert, Archie Hubert all of La Crosse; Mrs. Charles Stoker and daughter Miss Marjorie, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Hostnick of Chicago, Ill; Mrs. George Kimball, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hubert and daughter Gayle of Gurney(sic), Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hubert and son, Leon, of Zion, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Larson and daughter Joyce, Waukegan, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Stoker, Chester Stoker, North Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Algie Stoker, Taylor.
