S. MASON Mr. I. S. MASON, who had been in feeble health for quite a period, breathed his last early Saturday morning, the 29th inst., and was buried with Masonic Honors the next day. The funeral was largely attended, the Methodist church being crowded to its utmost capacity and many were unable to gain admittance. Mr. MASON was born in Albany, New York, the year 1816, from which city he moved to another portion of the State, and we believe it was 1838 or ‘39, he moved to Chicago, then a small place. The year 1843, he came to La Crosse, and in 1845, to the Black River Valley, where he has resided ever since, having been engaged in lumbering, trading and keeping hotel. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate husband and parent. They have the sympathy of the whole town.
