Mayor Bunsa was driving. In the party also were Mrs. Bunsa's mother Mrs. J. F. Smith who suffered broken ribs and bruises, and the Bunsa’s son Robert and daughter Mary, both of whom escaped injury. When passing near the outskirts of Waterloo, Mr. Bunsa momentarily gave attention to his little son, who had fallen asleep on the seat beside him; and at that instant the front wheel of the sedan climbed the curb and the car gently tipped into the ditch. The only damage done to the car was a bent right front fender. The injured ladies were given first aid at Waterloo and were then taken to St. Mary's hospital at Columbus.
