Fuchs (d. 1865) SUBJECT: Obituary SUBMITTER: Patricia Hauenstein EMAIL: Jthowie@aol.com DATE: Feb 07, 2000 SURNAMES: Keimig, Pospischil, Fuchs, Armatigni, Geister Rannahl (Reinier) T. Fuchs, died in this city, at his residence in the 3d ward, on the morning of September 1st, 1865. When the 3d regiment of Wisconsin Calvary was being raised, Lieut. Fuchs enlisted as a private, and became a member of Capt. E. Off's company. He remained with the regiment during the three years' term of service, and was promoted to a Lieutenancy. He was an active an efficient officer, promptly doing his duty in all the perilous adventures, numerous expeditions and long marches which distinguished the history of that gallant regiment. Having been honorably discharged, he returned to this city a few months since, but not in good health. After a lingering illness, he has yielded to a disease contracted in the army, leaving a wife and one small child to mourn his death. He was buried last Friday, all his companions, in arms in the city following his remains to the grave.
