Obituary: Juneau County, Wisconsin: Elise SLINING ************************************************************************ Submitted by Joan Benner, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ Abstracted from the Wood County Times [Nekoosa, Wood Co., Wisconsin], 17 Sept. 1908 On Saturday, Sept. 12, 1908, at her home in Armenia township, Juneau County, Mrs. Elise Slining passed away...death being caused by heart failure. The funeral took place Monday, conducted by Rev. Raymond of the U. B. church, and burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery. Mrs. Slining was born in Norway Aug. 26, 1866, coming to this country with her parents in 1883, and settling in the town of Rome, Adams County. In 1885 she was married to Rasmus Slining and resided in the Town of Rome until seven years ago when they came to Armenia to live. She leaves a husband and seven children: Ole, Cynthia, Edith, Arthur, Nellie, Roy and Mrs. Fay Wells, a mother, three brothers and a sister. At the time of her death she was 42 years and 17 days of age. Mr. and Mrs. C. Sparby and sons Carl and Chris of Arkdale came up to attend the funeral of Mrs. R. Slining. Mrs. Sparby was a sister of Mrs. R. Slining.
