It is located in Mauston Oakwood Cemetery. Oakwood Cemetery is located in Mauston, Juneau County, WI. Headstone data: James Dayton 1835 - 1910 Maryette Dayton 1842 - 1933 Additional Comments: James Madison Dayton is a direct decendent of Ralph Dayton. Ralph Dayton, the first American Dayton, was born in 1598 in Maidstone, England. At the age of 19, on June 16, 1617, Ralph Dayton married Alice Goldhatch in Ashford, County Kent, England. At about the age of 41 in 1638 Ralph and his family [his wife, three sons, & two daughters] immigrated to America arriving at Boston. From 1639 to 1649, Ralph was a member of the New Haven Colony. James Dayton was married to Maryette Robinson.
