Johannes' parents are Halvor Hansen Temtemoen and Inger Louise Pedersdatter Besseberg. Julia's parents are Ostein Botten Jorgensen and Valborg Tjerandstr (Kjerandsdtr). These families lived for a while in Juneau County, Wisconsin. John H. Mr. and Mrs. Temte, Seattle residents for fourteen years, were married in Madison, South Dakota. They spent most of their married life at Volga South Dakota, where Mr. Temte was a wagon maker. He is 77 years old. She is 70. Mr. and Mrs. Temte have three sons, Otto H. and John W. (Winfred) of Seattle and George E. (Ellis) of Washington D. C. and two daughters, Mrs. R. J. (Verna Lillian) Ware, Grandview and Mrs. J. G. (Cordelia) Lovell, Seattle. "GOLDEN WEDDING CELEBRATION FOR SEATTLE COUPLE" October, 1934 Fifty years married, Mr. and Mrs. John Temte, 2031 Boylston Ave. N., are still receiving congratulations in connection with the recent celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. The Temtes have lived in Seattle the past fourteen years, coming here from South Dakota where Temte followed the trade of a wagon maker and blacksmith. He is seventy-seven, she is seventy. The wedding anniversary ceremony was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. H. A. Stubb officiating. The couple was attended by their sons, Otto and John, and their daughters, Mrs. R. J. Ware and Mrs. J. D. Lovell, and Mrs. Temte's sisters, Mrs. H. C. (Anna Gyrine Jorgensen) Bohlke and Miss Tena J. Jorgensen, and grandchildren and nieces and nephews. John H. Temte (Johannes Halvorsen Temtemoen) & Julia Jorgensen (Gjyri Botten) "ALWAYS HAPPY, SAY PAIR WED FOR 52 YEARS" The Seattle Daily News in Seattle, Washington October 29, 1936 Fifty-two years ago today (October 29, 1884) Julia Jorgensen and John H. Temte were married at Madison, South Dakota, and now, a half century later, they have an enigmatic answer to questioners seeking a formula to successful marriages. "Be happy. We've always been happy." The Temtes celebrated their anniversary quietly with relatives at their home, 2031 Boylston Ave. N. (in Seattle). Mr. Temte said with a chuckle that he didn't care for "wild parties." Mr. Temte is 79 years old, his wife 72. Until 1920, when they moved to Seattle with their children, they lived at Volga, South Dakota where Temte was a wagon maker. The Temtes are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago. "TEMTES ARE WED 57 YEARS" October, 1941 Mr. and Mrs. John H. Temte will be congratulated on their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary tomorrow by their children and family friends in their home, 2031 Boylston Ave. N. The Temtes were married in Lake County, South Dakota. Temte was a wagon maker at Volga, South Dakota, until they moved to Seattle twenty-one years ago. The couple has four children, Mrs. J. G. Lovell of Seattle, Mrs. R. J. Ware of Grandview, Yakima County, John W. Temte and George E. Temte, both of Seattle. John H. Temte (Johannes Halvorsen Temtemoen) & Julia Jorgensen (Gjyri Botten) "GULLBRYLLUP" Et meget vakkert gullbryllup feiredes forriage mandag aften i Immanuelkirken i overvaer av en forsamling paa flere hundre slektninger og venner fra fjern og naer. Kirken var vakkert pyntet med blomster og lys. Forst sang Vera Bohlke Nelsen en niese av gullbrudeparet, akkompagnert paa orgelet av Valborg Ylvisaker, som ogsaa spilte brudemarsjen. Til dens toner kom brudefolget op kirkens midtgang til alteret ledet av sonnene Otto H. Temte og John W. Temte og dotrene Verna Ware og Cordelia Lovell, saa kom hedersparet herr og fru John H. Temte. Pastor H. A. Stub motte dem vel alteret og holdt brudetalen, avsluttet med Herens velsigneise. Saa fikk alle hove til aa lykkonske paret og hele forsamlingen blev opvartet med deilige forfriskninger i kirkens sal, hvor Guild sirkel av kvinneforeningen forestod ordningen. Pastor Stub var ordstyrer og en rekke taler blev holdt, som alle vidnet om den store kjaerlighet og respekt hvormed hedersparet omfattedes, og Donald Ware, an dattersonn, sang for besteforeldrene. Hr. og fru Temte er av de staute, rolige norske trofaste og paalitelige og dyktige i alt de faretar sig. John H. Temte er fodt i Drammen, Norge, og kom til Amerika 9 aar gammel. Fru Temte, fodt Julia Jorgensen, var fodt i Roldal, Norge, og kom til Amerika som spedbarn. De har bodd i Wisconsin, Minnesota og Syd Dakata for de i 1920 kom til Seattle. De blev viet i Madison, S. Dak., ved pastor Shirley 29 Okt. 1884. De har alltid vaert aktive i kirken og er skattede medlemmer av Immanuelkirken. Foruten de nevnte barn er der en sonn, George, som bon I Washington, D. C.
