He opened a hotel and saloon, continued for six years, then sold out and went into the ice business; in 1874, was elected City Marshal for two years, and, Jan. 13, 1879, Deputy Sheriff for two years. In 1872, he was appointed Policeman, which position he at present holds. Married, on Jan. 13, 185_ Miss Bridget Terry, a native of Illinois. They have had nine children, seven boys and two girls; oi boy and one girl died. Member Catholic Church; Democrat.
