ZERHIEN, foreman Pettit's malt-house; born in Germany in 1827; came to Wisconsin in 1861, locating at Kenosha, where he commenced work in the malt-house; in 1864, was appointed foreman, which position he still holds. In 1863, he married Miss Mary Zern; she is a native of Germany; have five children-one son and four daughters; members of the Catholic Church; Republican.
