Arneson, 57, 6833–22nd Avenue, died at St. Catherine's Hospital early this morning following a long illness. Born Jane I. Starr in Kenosha on June 15, 1911, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Starr, she was a lifelong resident of this city. She received her education at St. James School and Bradford High School and, in 1933, graduated with a B.A. degree from the College of St. Theresa in Winona, Minnesota. On June 30, 1945, she married Eugene C. Arneson, president of Arneson Foundry Inc., who survives her. Prior to her marriage she was a social worker for the Kenosha County Welfare Department, and later was a receptionist at Snap-on-Tools Corp. A member of St. Mark's Church she was also a member of St. Mark's Christian Mothers, Catholic Women's Club and the League of Women Voters. Secretary of the St. Mark's Home and School Association, she also served on the board of the Kenosha High School Alumni Association, was a board member of the Multiple Sclerosis society, team captain of the United Fund drive, co-chair of the Heart Fund and a Girl Scout leader. Under her leadership the auxiliary library at St. Catherine's Hospital was organized. She served as librarian for 12 years. One sister, Margaret, preceded her in death. Funeral services for the late Jane I. Arneson of 6833–22nd Avenue, who passed away November 21st, will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at 8:30 a.m. from the Hansen Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark's Church at 9:00 a.m. Interment following in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hansen Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
