Edquist Born: January 23, 1921 Death: July 17, 2006 Additional Comments: Glenn I. Edquist, 85, of Somers, passed away Monday, July 17th, 2006, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa after a short illness. He was born in Paris Township on January 23, 1921, the son of the late Iver and Mabel (Bergeson) Edquist. On July 22, 1950, he was united in marriage with Betty Davis at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his son, Ron Edquist of Kenosha; his sister, Ethel Gallatin of Somers; and two nieces and one nephew. Glenn lived most of his life in Kenosha County. He was educated in local schools and a graduate of the College of Commerce. Born to a Swedish farming family, he operated a farm in Somers for most of his life, and then spent 12 years with Modine Manufacturing, from where he retired. After retirement, Glenn and Betty moved to Texas. After ten years, they returned to Kenosha to be closer to family and friends, and the farming country he loved. Glenn served the Town of Somers as Assessor and as a volunteer of the Somers Fire Department. He was a member of the Somers Community Church and the Somers Rod & Gun Club, the latter for which he served as President. In 1969, he was appointed to the Kenosha County Board and was subsequently re-elected to that position.
