Y., in 1843. He came to La Crosse in 1856; learned the trade of carpentry in the city of La Crosse, where he worked three or four years, when he removed to the village of Bangor. He enlisted in 1861, in the 14th W. V. I. He served four years; was actively engaged the whole of this time; participated in not less than fifteen battles.
