EDWARDS, farmer, Sec. 27; P. O. West Salem; born in Chenango Co., N. Y., in 1822. He came to Walworth Co., Wis., in May, 1842, where he lived ten years. He came to La Crosse Co. in May, 1852, and purchased his present farm of Mr. Milton Barlow, of La Crosse. Mr. Edwards was the first Postmaster of this section of the country; was appointed in the fall of 1852. He has been a Justice of the Peace twenty-two years. He is a brother of Mr. George Edwards, of the city of La Crosse. His wife was Almira Carver, daughter of Austin Carver, of Walworth Co.
