EVAN FRANCIS, farmer; P. O. Salem; born in Wales, Dec. 29, 1830; his parents 
emigrated to Ohio in 1833, thence to Upper Canada; his father, Daniel Francis, 
came to La Crosse Co. with Evan Jones, but returned to Canada soon after; he 
came back to La Crosse several years later, and bought a quarter section in 
the town of Hamilton; he is still a resident of that town. Parents had twelve 
children; five sons and four daughters still living. Evan was married to Susan 
Raymond, daughter of Sylvester Raymond; she was born in Madison, Wis.
