JAMES H. GILFILLAN, P. O. Bangor; son of James Gilfillan, who was born in 
Vermont in 1809. His parents were natives of Scotland. He was brought up in 
Vermont, married to Maria Redding. He came to Dodge Co., Wis., with his 
family, June, 1847, where he settled; thence to La Crosse County, and settled 
on the farm where his son James now lives in 1854. Parents removed to Salem in 
1873. James H. married Carrie Redding, daughter of Stephen Redding. He was 
born in Vermont in 1846.
