W. S. HANSCOM, dealer in boots and shoes, Healy's Block, Main street; has been 
a resident of La Crosse since February, 1856, and in business since the May 
following. He is a native of Kennebec Co., Me., born in 1830, he came from 
there to La Crosse. He was married in Maine in 1855, to Miss Mary E., daughter 
of Freeman Shaw; has four children - Willard O., Edward S., Jerome H. and 
Grace.
