O. Barre Mills; was born in Ireland in 1818; emigrated to the United States in 1843, and stopped in the State of New York two years, after which he went to Walworth Co., Wis., at which place, in 1849, he was married to Jane, daughter of James and Mary Murphy, born in Ireland March 29, 1830. In 1851, Mr. Hogan entered 240 acres of land in what is now known as Bostwick Valley, the same being the first land entered in the town of Barre, and the following year he moved his family on said land, on which they have lived to the present time. Mr. Hogan now owns 200 acres, which is one of the best farms in the valley, being well improved and having good buildings. Mr. H. has been a member of the School Board of his district, and is a Liberal in politics. The children now living are William, James, Mary Jane, Sarah E., John M., Ellen M. and Robert H.
