Mr. Hohl came to the United States in 1866, and settled in La Crosse; his first wife died on the ocean on the way to America, and he was the second time married in August, 1874, to Miss Tina Winsky, of La Crosse; he has three children - George, Annie and Mary; the oldest by the first wife. He learned wagon-making and cigar-making in Germany, and since coming to the United States, learned plastering, barbering and gunsmithing.
