Mr. K. came to America in 1853; worked two months in New Orleans, La., one year in Chicago, and has resided in La Crosse since September, 1855; has been in his present business since the fall of 1863. His first wife died in 1860, leaving one child, which died soon after; he was married again 1862, to Suline Gugenbuehl, a native of Switzerland, and a sister of his first wife; has five children by second marriage - Bertha, Charlotte, Emma, Adolph and Suline.
