R. R. LA THIER, retired farmer; P. O. New Amsterdam; was born in Holland, June 
17, 1820; came to Wisconsin June 30, 1855; bought 400 acres of land, and 
improved it; now owns 1,380 acres, and town property. He has been Town 
Treasurer four years, and School Director. His wife was a native of Holland; 
she died there before he came to this country, in the year 1845; is a 
Presbyterian.
