LISTMAN, proprietor of the Victor Mill; has been a resident of La Crosse since June, 1858; followed contracting and building till 1873; he built the court house, Congregational, Baptist, Presbyterian, and Episcopal churches, and many of the business blocks; has been in his present business since 1879. He was born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, in 1830; came to the United States in 1848, and lived in Syracuse, N. Y., till he came to La Crosse, except one and a half years in Iowa.
