JOHN MARKLE, farmer, Sec. 19; P. O. La Crosse; was born in Indiana in 1851; 
while yet an infant his parents came to La Crosse; at the age of 17 he left 
home and learned the blacksmith's trade, which he followed for about six 
years, when he was married to Sarah Latimer born in Canada in 1852, and soon 
after turned his attention to farming, taking the charge of his father's farm 
of 160 acres, and is still working the same. Mr. Markle has held some town 
offices, and is at present Constable; in politics he is a Liberal.
